Riverstone Parks & Recreation is an independent taxing body governed by an elected board of commissioners. Everything we do is accountable to the 78,000 residents we serve.

District founded by referendum with 3 parks and one community house.
- 1976
Riverstone Aquatic Center opens as a bicentennial community gift.
- 1994
Trailway Loop connects 12 parks with paved multi-use path.
- 2011
Adaptive Recreation Program launches; inclusive playground opens at Willowbrook Park.
- 2019
Nature Center opens on restored prairie site with dedicated field-trip programming.
- 2025
New comprehensive plan approved by residents; 32 parks, 200+ programs, 1,200 acres.

Public board meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Central Community Center. Residents may address the board during public comment.
